Trufax- the last time someone complimented me on not sounding Black my response was and I quote: “thank you ma’am we’s allowed to get learnin now” with a deep drawl. The lady blanched and ran away. So also, I’m way meaner in actual life. I’m far nicer on the internet. I stilll hear this a lot - and I just may use that line. Feel free. Other responses I like, the dead pan wide eyed like the person in the picture: “You mean…I’m Black?” If you can quiver your lip on cue that works as well. Also a la Little John: “WHAT?” “WHAT?” Then when they repeat it because they will, you say all sad. “okay….”
